myFavz.com is a social shopping service with a magical twist, pKaboo!. where people can explore and share cool new product ideas, get personalized shopping suggestions and create and communicate instant wish lists. To use myFavz, add products from anywhere on the web to your lists with our easy-to-use browser buttons.
Is myFavz free?
Yes, All features of myFavz are free
Does myFavz sell products?
No, myFavz is not a store and does not sell any merchandise. We simply offer a convenient way for our members to tell everyone what they want or recommend and where it can be purchased.
If I have a question about a product or my order, who should I contact?
myFavz does not sell products and we cannot help with product or ordering issues. Any questions about products, orders, availability or pricing should be directed to the merchant selling the item. The price on the merchant's website is always correct. The products you see on myFavz are added by our users, not the merchant. Always check the merchant's site for the current pricing and availability.
Do you offer price comparision for products?
myFavz has partnered with Shopping.com to make it easy for you to get the lowest prices on items you wish to purchase online. To see prices from different online stores, search for products on the search toolbar and click the "Compare Prices" link and you will be able to see comparison prices from a variety of online merchants.

pKaboo!

What exactly is pKaboo!?
pKaboo! is a patent-pending new social registry / wish list concept. The best part about it is that you do not have to create a list at all. Just register as a member, invite your friends and you’re ready to go.

There are four Games of pKaboo! which a gift giver can play with the recipient based on his / her unique situation.
The Four Games of pKaboo!
- Ask for a Hint:
  A gift giver can anonymously ask questions to the recipient for hints to find the perfect gift idea. The recipient replies by providing the information for the question asked. The gift giver uses that information to spring start a search for the perfect gift idea within his / her own pricepoint.
- Send a Shopping Bag:
  A gift giver can anonymously ask the recipient to choose the perfect gift idea within a pricepoint. The recipient adds his favorite choices to the reply and sends it back to the giver.The gift giver can purchase the products by clicking on the links of the images and surprise the recipient on the day of the event.
- Find the Perfect Gift Card:
  A gift giver can anonymously ask the recipient to choose his / her current favorite brand. The recipient replies by adding his / her currrent favorite brand. The giver clicks on the link, makes the purchase and surprises the recipient with the perfect gift idea on the day of the event.
- Total Surprise:
  A gift giver anonymously sends an amazon gift certificate to the recipient. The recipient finds his favorite products on myfavz.com (products sold by amazon.com only), adds to his shopping cart on myfavz.com, checks out at amazon.com by paying with the amazon gift certificate sent by the giver. myFavz tracks and stores the purchase and discloses the information to both of them on the day after the the event. Thus, it is a total surprise for the gift recipient and the gift giver as well.
How do I know which game I should play with my recipient?
It depends on your unique situation.

If you have partly decided what you want to get and require some more information to make it the perfect gift play the “Ask for a Hint” game.

For example: Mike has a crush on Marissa, his college friend. He wants to give her a beautiful floral bouquet for the valentine’s day. But he wants to make it special by choosing Marissa’s favorite flowers. So Mike plays Game 1 (Ask for a Hint) with Marissa and anonymously gets to know that her current favorite flowers are the Pink Stargazer Lilies. Mike surprises Marissa on Valentine’s Day with a bouquet full of Marissa’s favorite Lilies.

You can also play this game if you are undecided and want to get a hint to spring start a new search for an exciting gift idea for your recipient.

For example: Kathy wants to give Josh, her co-worker, a surprise gift for his birthday.She knows him well but is still not able to figure out a good gift idea for him. She plays Game 1 (Ask for a Hint) with Josh, to know what his current interests are. Josh replies back with the information that he recently started taking pottery classes. Kathy searches for a unique pottery ceramic paper holder on myfavz.com and surprises Josh with the gift on his birthday.

If you have a pricepoint and wouldn’t mind disclosing it to the recipient, then play the “Send a Shopping Bag” game. This is a no fuss game and lets the recipient do the shopping for you within your price point.

For example: Anna is going to celebrate this christmas at her brother Steve’s house. She wants to give a gift to the family but does not know what the family wants right now. She plays Game 2 (Send a Shopping Bag) with Steve where she anonymously asks him to choose a gift idea within a pricepoint.Steve selects the beautiful crockery set that his wife coveted which is also within the pricepoint. Anna buys the perfect gift for them without ever moving out of her house and within her budget.

If you are planning on giving a gift card to the recipient, then play the “Find the Perfect Gift Card” game. It helps give current favorite and relevant store / brand gift cards.

For example: Ashley wants to give her niece Jessica, a gift card for her sweet sixteen celebrations. She remembers seeing Jessica wearing an American Eagle t-shirt six months ago. But she still wants to make sure before buying a gift card. She plays Game 3 (Find the Perfect Gift card) with Jessica to anonymously find out her current favorite store / brand. Jessica has recently moved from the American Eagle brand to Abercrombie & Fitch. Ashley is glad that she got to know that information and gets her the perfect gift card.

If you would like to take the gift giving surprise to a whole new level then play the “Total Surprise” Game. It is a total surprise for the gift recipient and the gift giver as well!

For example : Tara wants to give her friend Sofia, a perfect gift for her wedding. She can choose either from her registry or do something really different.She goes ahead and plays the game of “Total Surprise” with Sofia. By doing so, she buys an Amazon Gift card from www.amazon.com which gets emailed to Sofia. Sofia searches for her favorite products on myfavz.com (products sold by amazon.com only), adds them to her shopping cart on myfavz.com, checks out at amazon.com by paying with the amazon gift certificate sent by Tara. myFavz tracks and stores the purchase and discloses the information to both of them on the day after the the event. Thus, it is a total surprise for Tara and Sofia as well.

How does pKaboo! work?
When gift givers play a pKaboo! game with the recipient, the gift givers identity is hidden from the recipient.
Step 1: The giver fills in the required information :
- the recipient’s user name (from his network of approved friends or myfavz members )
- the date and type of the event (i.e. birthday, Christmas, wedding, anniversary, etc.)
- the question to be asked to the recipient, or a brief message.
- a notional value of the gift (for send a shopping bag game only)
- real gift card value (for the total surprise game only)
- an ecard to personalise the pKaboo!
Step 2: When the giver clicks send, the recipient recieves the request made and takes the appropriate action and replies back to the giver.
Step 3: The giver recieves the reply and uses that information to buy the perfect gift.
Step 4: The identity of the gift giver is disclosed to the recipient, by default, on the day of the event. pKaboo thus brings back the twin elements of joy and surprise into the whole process of gift giving and gift receiving.
My event is coming up. How can I take advantage of pKaboo! to recieve the gifts I like?
Just sign up at myfavz and let your friends know that they can play pKaboo! with you to find your current interests, hobbies or gift ideas.

HELP! Somebody replied to my pKaboo with a gift idea that is way out of my budget.
No problem. If the gift idea is outside of your budget then you can give them a gift card for the store that sells that item. They will still appreciate it because they can use it to partly pay for that item.

Can I play pKaboo! with somebody who is not in my network and not on myfavz.com?
No, You cannot send anonymous emails outside the system.

How does the game of Total Surprise work?
To play the game of total surprise, the gift giver fills out the information and then buys a real gift card from amazon.com for the required gift amount. The gift card is emailed by amazon.com to the recipient’s email address provided by the giver. The giver must make sure not to add his email address on the amazon.com gift card product page. This takes away the surprise element of the game. The recipient then selects his favorite products, adds it to his shopping cart on myfavz.com, checksout on amazon.com by paying with the amazon.com gift card. myFavz.com tracks and stores the information about the purchase and discloses it to the recipient and the giver on the day of the event.

pkaWoo!

What is pkaWoo!?
pkaWoo is a new word of mouth recommending concept among friends and the myfavz community. A user can anonymously post shopping questions on myFavz.com and other users make anonymous recommendations for cool products & hot deals based on their personal experience.

How does it work?
To play the pkaWoo! game you have to ask shopping questions (like which digital camera should I buy?, a christmas gift for my boss, etc.). Your identity is kept hidden from everybody. This pkaWoo! request is then broadcasted to the entire myFavz network and friends in your network are notified. The recommendations made to you by other users are anonymous also. When you have got your perfect answer, click on the “I’m wooed” button next to the answer and bingo! the identities of all the users who made a recommendation as well as yours are disclosed to everybody. This adds an element of fun and interactivity into the process of word of mouth marketing between different users.

Is pKaboo! and pkaWoo completely anonymous?
No. The identities of all the users concerned will be disclosed to all on the day of the event for pKaboo! or the day of expiry for pkaWoo!

What are the benefits of pKaboo! & pkaWoo?

Creating, Editing and Sharing Lists

How many lists can I have?
You can have 4 different types of list:
- I Want List:
  This list is for items you want. myFavz want lists are private. Other users can only see details about your want list like price, store & desirability. The product id is not displayed to them until they reserve the item to give as a gift to you!
- I Have List :
  This list is for items you have.When other users search for products that you already have, you will automatically be notified of their want .You can then (anonymously) recommend products to them based on your experience. Use this list for things you love, think are cool, already own or just want to let others know about.
- I Recommend List :
  This list is for items you have recommended to the myFavz community. You can make changes to a recommendation even after submitting it.
- Saved Gifts List:
  This list is for items you want to give a loved one as a gift. Whenever you browse the internet for products and come across something really exciting to give as a gift, make sure to add it to your Gifts list.
How do I add items to a list?
There are several ways you can add items to your lists.
- The simplest way to add items to your lists is by searching for products on the search bar on the top of the myfavz homepage. Users can search for products from amazon.com, shopping.com or myFavz.com. When you see results click on the Lists icons below the products displayed on the myFavz site.
- Add products from any website on the internet. Another cool way to add items to your lists is with the myFavz bookmark tool. They are simple to add to your browser and don't contain spyware. Just drag and drop the Add to myFavzbrowser tool button .Once the buttons are added, just click the “Add to myFavz” button whenever you're on a webpage anywhere on the web that has an item you want to add to a list. Get the myFavz Buttons.
- Manually create a new item - To create a unique item, click the "Add to myFavz" button and select the option manually add an item. Enter title, description, tags and other information along with an image. This new item will look just like other items on your list.
How can I remove the myFavz buttons from my browser?
Just remove it like you would any other bookmark. The myFavz button acts like a bookmark, it does not modify your browser in any way. In Internet Explorer or Firefox, just right click and select delete. The bookmarking tool will be removed from the browser. You can re-add it at any time.

Can I make my lists private?
The settings for the lists are default only. Users cannot change these settings. They are:
- I want List (wish list): is semi private. Other users can see the rank of desirability, the price of the item, quantity required, ability to reserve and the store where the item is available. When anybody reserves an item from your wish list, the images and details of the item are disclosed to them and they are taken to the linking web page to buy that item. They can de-reserve it, in case they decide not to buy that item.
- I have List: is public. It is a great way to let your friends and others know that you own and have used that item.
- I recommend list: is public. Any products you recommend are visible to all. That is the whole purpose of blowing the trumpet, isn’t it?
- Saved gifts list: are private by default. Only you can see your own saved gifts list.

How do I delete a list?
Lists cannot be deleted. However, the products in the lists can be removed from the lists by clicking the lists icons below the product images.
How do I edit the description of an item on my list?
To edit a product description, just click ‘edit description’ when you are viewing the product.

How can I help readers of my blog or website find one or all of my myFavz lists?
Right now we do not offer badges or widgets that you can quickly create and customize for your personal blog or website, but based on the many requests we have received we are actively thinking about offering it soon.

I already have a Wish List on Amazon. Can I import it into myFavz?
We are working on this feature, but currently you cannot directly import a list from Amazon. The products from your Amazon wish list can all be found on myFavz though, so feel free to add any that you find.

After I create a Wish List, how do I make sure people find it?
Invite your friends to myFavz using the Invite Friends feature. It’s in the top menu under the ‘People’ header.

How can I find the Wish List of someone I know?
If you know their myFavz username, you can go directly to their profile page. You can also search for them using the Search field on the page header. Select "People" from the drop-down menu, type in their myFavz username, real name, or email address and click Go. From their profile, click on the "wishlist" tab to see their entire list. The list is semi-private by default. When I reserve a gift from someone's Wish List, can other people see who reserved it?
No, the list owner and other gift shoppers will not see who has reserved an item, only that the gift has been reserved.

If I am not a registered myFavz user, can I reserve / unreserve a gift from somebody’s wish list?
No, you must register to reserve a gift from somebody’s wish list.

Friends and Sharing

How do I invite my friends to myFavz?
Use the "Invite Friends" on your myFavz profile page. Anyone you invite will be linked as your fiend under Friends on your profile page once they sign up for myFavz, so you'll see each other's latest items and public comments.

How do I add existing myFaverz as friends?
If you see a myFaverz you'd like to add as a friend, visit their profile and click the "Add as a Friend" link to send them an invitation to be friends. If they accept your request, you will be linked friends, so you'll see each other's latest items and public comments in myFavz.

If I want to share my list with friends, do they have to first sign up for myFavz?
Yes. Whenever you share a list with your friends they will be able to view the list only if they are registered myFaverz.

Groups and Forums

How do I join a group?
To join any public group, go to the group homepage and click the "Join Group" button in the header.
How do I quit a group?
To join and quit a group, go to the group homepage and click the "Quit Group" link just below the group header.
How do I create a group?
We encourage new groups that benefit the community. Before you create a group, make sure a similar group doesn't already exist by using the Search field in the header, set to Groups. To create a group, go to the Groups page and click the "Create a Group" button . Be aware that spamming, advertising products, posting inappropriate content or otherwise violating our community guidelines will result in the group (and possibly your account) being deleted, so please be aware.

Comments and Ratings

Can I remove or edit a comment I've submitted?
You can only edit a comment but cannot remove it.

How do I rate an item I see on a list?
To rate an item, click on the title or image to see the product details page. You will see a set of five “ COLORED HEARTS”. Click 1 to 5 hearts to rate the item. You can change your rating by clicking a different heart.

My Account

How do I change my email address, password or screen name?
To change your email address, password or screen name, click "Edit Profile” under "My Profile" in the header. You'll see links that allow you to change your screen name, password, email address and email notification preferences.

How do I cancel my account?

Reporting Abuse

I hate spam. Do you share users' email addresses with others?
We do not share email addresses of myFavz users with anyone. The only emails you will receive if you register with myFavz will come directly from us. And you'll be able to opt out of communications from us at any time through a link included on any email we send.

If I see spam, inappropriate content or unwanted messages on myFavz, what should I do?
Please use the Send feedback form. Please include the URL of the page where you found the content.
